Connecting people, ideas, and opportunities
I had no idea that my passion for creating ideas for stories would also pave the way for a successful career in recruitment, but the signs were there all along.
My journey to becoming a recruiter began with my first job at Nickelodeon, where I discovered my innate ability to connect people and ideas.
As I created story concepts, I found myself searching for the perfect expert to bring each topic to life.
I reached out to these authorities, engaged them in conversation, and assessed not only their knowledge but also their ability to captivate and inspire our audience.
Little did I know that this experience was laying the foundation for my future career in recruiting.
The skills I developed at Nickelodeon, identifying talent, initiating contact, building rapport, and evaluating both expertise and interpersonal skills, would later become the cornerstone of my success as a recruiter.
Looking back, I can see how my natural inclination to bring people together and my keen eye for spotting potential were early indicators of my future path.
As I progressed through my career, these traits continued to manifest themselves in various ways.
From hosting dinner parties that sparked friendships between people from diverse backgrounds to helping clients build strong, cohesive teams, I consistently found myself drawn to roles that allowed me to facilitate meaningful connections.
When a college friend asked me to help his architecture and design clients build strong, resilient teams, I realized that my talent for connecting people could make a significant impact in the professional world.
Today, as the business owner of NDH Search; specializing in the architecture, interior design, and landscape architecture industries, I know my purpose goes beyond simply filling positions.
In hindsight, it's clear that my path to becoming a recruiter was not a sudden epiphany but a gradual unveiling of my true calling.
The signs were there all along, waiting for me to recognize and embrace them.
One truth that has become crystal clear throughout my life and career is that I am, at my core, a connector.
It's not just what I do; it's who I am.
Connecting people, ideas, and opportunities is the driving force behind everything I undertake, and it's the source of my greatest fulfilment and success.
I can help hiring teams by connecting them with the design talent they need to grow their business and win projects.
